MNF Odds, Betting Line and Picks – Week 8 of the 2016-17 NFL Season

It’s time to see how the Minnesota Vikings will play following a loss. The Vikings’ resolve will be tested this Monday, albeit against a dumpster-on-fire Chicago Bears, who have lost all of their last three games. Will Minnesota get back to its winning ways going medieval on the Bears? Or will Chicago pull off a shocker?

Game Preview

Jay Cutler’s days in Chicago appear to be numbered. But while there are rumors that the Bears will cut ties with the quarterback at season’s end, Cutler might actually work under center this coming Monday against the visiting Vikings. Cutler hasn’t played since Week 2 due to a thumb injury but he’s been cleared to return to action as soon as Monday. Cutler’s one of the most frustrating quarterbacks out there but he’s obviously a better option than Matt Barkley, who passed for 81 yards and two interceptions while subbing for the injured Brian Hoyer in a 26-10 road loss in Green Bay last Week.

Apart from Cutler, the Bears could also have running back Matt Langford back this Monday after missing the last four games because of a high ankle sprain. The Bears’ offense definitely needs all the help it can get, as they are last in the league in scoring with an average of just 15.9 points per game. Chicago might have to bleed more for points against Minnesota and its top rated defense that allows just 14.0 PPG.

The Vikings are coming off a 21-10 loss to Philadelphia last Sunday and should be motivated to bounce back after suffering their first setback of the season. The Eagles’ exposed Minnesota’s suspect offensive line by taking down Sam Bradford six times. Chicago’s pass rush isn’t as threatening as Philly’s but 15 sacks on the season isn’t too shabby either. The Bears will try to keep the game close by putting constant pressure on Bradford. Still Cutler will have to find a way to dissect Minnesota’s offense that gives up just 279.5 total yards per contest.
