Betting on the Giants
The Giants are loving the start for rookie wide receiver Sterling Shepard. He’s caught two touchdowns in three games and has had one 100+ yard performance. The team will be missing Shane Vereen in this one but they are fired up about his replacement Orleans Darkwa getting a few more touches in his absence. The Giants are a team with potential but not a great defense. They’v e allowed the second most points for the NFC East (77) and are facing a team that lives and dies with their d. The Minnesota backside will out play New York tonight – our two cents.
Writer’s Prediction: The Giants offensive line is held in check. They go down early and often.
Betting on the Vikes
The Vikings defense dismantled the Carolina Panthers one week ago. They shut down Cam Newton through the air and sacked the QB an unimaginable eight times. The New York Giants have had a healthier start, although running back Shane Vereen will be OUT tonight. However, they’ve still showed weaknesses all over the turf. The Vikes offense, while cookie cutter, can be effective by hitting the holes we’ve seen through the first three weeks in the NYG secondary. We don’t see them winning this game through the air though…
Writer’s Prediction: The Vikings rely heavily on the shoulders of Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata to tear up the turf.
