Top 5 Most Underrated Prospects in the 2016 NFL Draft

5.  C.J. Prosise (RB, Notre Dame)

C.J. Prosise is still getting his feet wet in his new position at running back. He came to Notre Dame as a safety and then played as a wide receiver in his first two years. But it’s quite evident that Prosise does have the makings of a promising running back, as he has the speed, strength and athleticism that makes him such an intriguing prospect for multiple teams. Prosise rumbled for a total of  1,029 yards (6.6 yards per carry) along with 11 touchdowns for the Fighting Irish last season.

4.  Shilique Calhoun (DE, Michigan State)

Another intriguing prospect is none other than Shilique Calhoun of Michigan State, and he definitely has the credentials to prove his worth.

Calhoun filled up the stat sheet in his four seasons of college football, racking up 44 tackles, 27 sacks, five fumble recoveries, four forced fumbles and an interception. He was also named to the All-American squad for three-consecutive years, and was consistently ranked among the top in the Big Ten in terms of sacks. Calhoun, however, remains a risky pick for many teams as he still needs to improve against the run.

3. Scooby Wright (LB, Arizona)

In spite of his lack of athleticism and proneness to injury, Scooby Wright of Arizona could still turn out to be one of the biggest steals in the draft. His impact on games was heavily felt especially during his sophomore season, when he accumulated 163 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and six forced fumbles. It was really unfortunate that he missed most of the 2015 season due to knee and foot issues, but nevertheless, Wright’s toughness and explosiveness should  garner interest from many teams.

2.  Daniel Braverman (WR, WMU)

There’s a lot of promise in Daniel Braverman. He’s coming off a very productive year with Western Michigan, catching a total of 109 passes for 1,367 yards and 13 touchdowns. He’s quick, athletic, has good hands and can be really creative at some times.  Yes, he doesn’t have the ideal size for a pass-catcher, but that shouldn’t prevent teams which are in need of a skillful slot guy, from taking a risk in him.

1. Jacoby Brissett (QB, North Carolina State)
