There’s no question what the top game of Week 10 the college football season is: it’s the gigantic SEC West showdown between Alabama and LSU. Consensus Heisman Trophy front-runner Leonard Fournette will face the stiffest test of the season against Alabama’s vaunted run defense, which should make for an incredibly fascinating matchup of irresistible force vs. immovable object.
Alabama-LSU is hardly the only great game to watch in Week 10, though. There are also some big-time matchups in the Big 12, ACC and AAC, all of which have major conference championship ramifications. Meanwhile, College Football Playoff contender Notre Dame faces its second tough road game in the state of Pennsylvania in two weeks.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Pittsburgh Panthers
Where: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh
When: Saturday, November 7, 12:00 PM ET
Line: Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-8.5) at Pittsburgh Panthers (+8.5) – view all NCAA Football lines
TV Broadcast: ABC
[sc:NCAA240banner ]No. 8 Notre Dame’s College Football Playoff hopes were so nearly ended at Temple, but the Fighting Irish managed to hang on for the big road win. They’re not out of the woods yet, though, as they have another very tough road game to follow with Pittsburgh.
The Panthers’ chances of making the ACC championship game are now out of their hands after losing at home to North Carolina last week. But they still have a chance to land a big bowl game, especially if they take down the Irish at home.
Pitt did just that the last time they met back in 2013. The Panthers have gone undefeated against the spread (3-0-1 ATS) in their last four meetings with Notre Dame, and have lost by over a touchdown to the Irish just once in their last 10 meetings.
Writer’s Prediction: Pittsburgh (+8.5) covers, but Notre Dame escapes with a 28-21 road win.
Florida State Seminoles vs. Clemson Tigers
Where: Memorial Stadium, Clemson
When: Saturday, November 7, 3:30 PM ET
Line: Florida State Seminoles (+12.5) at Clemson Tigers (-12.5) – view all NCAA Football lines
TV Broadcast: ABC
An argument can be made that the Clemson Tigers – ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll – are actually the No. 1 team in the country right now. The College Football Playoff committee certainly agrees. The Tigers have a chance to move one giant step closer to the CFP if they can get past their last big regular season test coming in the form of No. 17 Florida State.
However, uncertainty currently surrounds the Seminoles’ two key offensive stars – quarterback Everett Golson and running back Dalvin Cook. Both missed FSU’s 45-21 win over Syracuse last week, Golson due to a concussion and Cook due to his troublesome hamstring. Florida state has gone just 1-5 (SU and ATS) in its last six visits to Death Valley.
Writer’s Prediction: Clemson crushes FSU, 42-28, to cover the 12.5-point spread.

TCU Horned Frogs vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Where: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater
When: Saturday, November 7, 3:30 PM ET
Line: TCU Horned Frogs (-5.5) at Oklahoma State Cowboys (+5.5) – view all NCAA Football lines
TV Broadcast: FOX
The TCU Horned Frogs got no respect from the CFP committee as they debuted way down in No. 8 in the CFP rankings. Their less-than-convincing road performances over Minnesota, Texas Tech and Kansas State were partly to blame. However, Trevone Boykin and co. will get another opportunity to impress the committee as they face an undefeated Oklahoma State team in Stillwater.
The No. 14 Cowboys are coming off a big 70-53 win on the road against Texas Tech, showing that they have the offense to hang with TCU. They’re No. 7 in the nation in scoring at 44.0 points per game, five spots back of No. 2 TCU (48.9). Bottom line: expect a LOT of points in this Big 12 shootout.
Writer’s Prediction: TCU escapes with another narrow road win, 45-42, as the Cowboys (+5.5) cover
Navy Midshipmen vs. Memphis Tigers
Where: Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, Memphis
When: Saturday, November 7, 7:00 PM ET
Line: Navy Midshipmen (+8) at Memphis Tigers (-8) – view all NCAA Football lines
TV Broadcast: ESPN2
The Memphis Tigers are carrying the flag for the Group of Five conferences this year, as they debuted at No. 13 in the CFP rankings. The unbeaten Tigers must now prove they’re worthy of that lofty ranking, beginning with a big home assignment against the Navy Midshipmen. Navy is currently in a three-way tie with Memphis and Houston atop the AAC West Division.
This matchup promises to be a battle of two terrific offenses that each has its own specialty. Memphis has one of the most efficient passing games in the nation with quarterback Paxton Lynch throwing 20 touchdowns against just one interception this season. Meanwhile, Navy’s vaunted triple-option rushing attack is No. 4 in the nation, averaging 319 yards per game. So, which style prevails?
Writer’s Prediction: Memphis (-8) sinks Navy, 35-28.
LSU Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide
Where: Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa
When: Saturday, November 7, 8:00 PM ET
Line: LSU Tigers (+6.5) vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (-6.5) – view all NCAA Football lines
TV Broadcast: CBS
This is the big one down south. Two of the giants in the SEC West collide in Tuscaloosa with division supremacy at stake. LSU is the lone undefeated team left in the conference, but the Crimson Tide still have a shot at defending their division crown.
Leonard Fournette, the big -280 favorite to win this year’s Heisman Trophy, has been far and away the country’s best running back. However, he’ll be going up against the vaunted Alabama front, which is once again among the leaders in fewest rushing yards allowed (78.5). Alabama has its own star running back in Derrick Henry, who will be looking to improve his Heisman resume by stealing the spotlight from the front-runner Fournette.
Writer’s Prediction: LSU (+6.5) covers, but Fournette can’t lift the Tigers past Alabama, who wins 24-21.
