Betting on the New England Patriots (2-0 Preseason Record)

At 41, Tom Brady is still as flawless as ever. The five-time Super Bowl champion quarterback proved he still has plenty of gas left in his tank. Againsts the Philadelphia Eagles last week, Brady played the entire first half and finished with 172 passing yards on 19-of-26 pass completions. Perhaps more impressive than Brady’s play was the performance of the Patriots’ pass rush. The Patriots recorded a dizzying total of eight sacks against the Eagles. Adrian Clayborn, a ey acqusition by the Pats this offseason, had stripped and sacked Eagles quarterback Nick Foles that led to a fumble recovery and defensive touchdown by New England. Up against the Panthers next, expect Clayborne and company to keep the pressure up on Carolina’s signal-callers.

The Patriots are 3-3 ATS in their last six road preseason games.

Betting on the Carolina Panthers (2-0 Preseason Record)

Seeing how ferocious New England’s pass rush last week, the Pantehrs know that they need to tighten up their pass protection. That didn’t happen in their Week 2 27-20 home win over the Miami Dolphins, as the Panthers’ offensive line let their quarterbacks get taken down three times. Cam Newton was sacked twice for a loss of 16 yards before finishing with 89 yards with a touchdown and an interception on 9-of-12 completions. The Panthers, however, can count on Christian McCaffrey always. McCaffrey was astounding in the Dolphins game, as he rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on five carries. He also had 28 receiving yards on four receptions. Tight end Ian Thomas could be a star in the making. The rookie out of Indiana, had  35 receiving yards and a touchdown on just two receptions.

The Panthers are 3-2 ATS in their last five preseason games.
