Coming into the last game the Tennessee Titans looked like a team that were in a good spot to make the playoffs, but now they are going to have a hard time winning the division, and they must win this game if they want any chance at that. They had won two games in a row before the offense really struggled against the Cardinals and that led to a 12-7 defeat.
Marcus Mariota has really struggled this year and that has led to a lot of the issues for for the Titans this year. He has thrown for 2582 yards, ten touchdowns and 14 interceptions. In the last game against Arizona he threw for 159 yards and two interceptions. If they want to win this game Mariota is going to need to play better.
The defensive side of the ball the Titans have been pretty average. They have given up 22.6 points per game, and 323 yards per game. To win this game the Titans are going to need step up on that side of the ball and slow down a 49ers team that has seemed to get a bit of rhythm in the last game.

On the other side of this match up is the San Francisco 49ers who had a terrible start to the year, but are playing much better in the last two games having won back to back games against the Bears and the Texans.
They were underdogs in both of the games so they were able to cover the spread. Jimmy Garoppolo is the starting quarterback for this team, and has had a lot of success.
He has thrown for 645 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. In this game he is going to need to have another nice game, and not turn the ball over.
On the defensive side of the ball, the 49ers have played really well the last couple of games. They have given up a total of 30 points over the last two games, and they are going to need to try and create a couple of turnovers in this game.

This is a big game for both teams, and I think they will both come out with a lot of motivation early on in the game. This game means more to the Titans though, and I think that will be the difference in this game.
