Betting on the New Orleans Saints (4-1)
The Saints are coming in fresh for Week 7 after an extra week of rest. The last time they were on the field, the Saints defeated the Washington Redskins at home, 43-19, to extend their win streak to four games. Hopefully for the Saints, their bye will not cool them off, particularly their blazing offense that’ has been pumping out 36.0 points per game – the best in the league. Quarterback Drew Brees has simply been fantastic under center as usual and against the Redskins, he had 363 passing yards and three touchdowns and zero interceptions in an exceptions display of accuracy. Brees, who went 26 of 29 in the Washington game, is clearly the main reason why the Saints are tops in the league in pass completions with a 77.6 percent success rate. As good as the Ravens’ defense is, it’s going to have its hands full in trying to contain both of New Orleans’ passing and rushing attack. Apart from Brees, the Saints also have the tailback tandem of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara.
The Saints are 3-0 ATS in their last three road games.
Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
After an embarrassing loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 5, the Ravens rebounded and vented their frustration on a hapless Tennessee Titans side last week in a 21-0 road win. Now, the Ravens will play at their home turf after going 2-1 SU on the road. The Ravens have an elite defense that should make this matchup with the Saints immensely watchable. Baltimore is allowing the fewest points per game in the NFL with 12.8. The Ravens are also No. 1 in total defense with just 270.1 total yards given up per contest. If the Ravens’ defense does slow down New Orleans‘ attack, Baltimore is going to be a good position to win the game since they also have a decent offense to pose problems for the Saints. See, New Orleans’ defense is far from being dependable. It’s 26th in the league wiht 28.0 points per game and 18th in total defense (369.0 yards).
The Ravens are 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus New Orleans.
Writer’s Prediction
Baltimore wins, 28-26.
