Betting on the New York Giants (+10.5)
Regular Season Record: 5-8
Despite losing their last two games, the Giants are somehow still in it to gain a ticket to the playoffs. That’s why the motivation for them to win this coming Sunday is going to be there. The Giants struggled mightily in their Week 16 20-6 home loss to the Cleveland Browns, with Colt McCoy as New York’s starting quarterback. McCoy could be back on the sidelines this week, as Daniel Jones is practicing already after missing the Cleveland game with a hamstring injury. Although far from being elite, Jones gives the Giants’ offense a higher floor. On the other side of the ball, the Giants will rely heavily on their defense against Baltimore. The Giants have 34 sacks on the season, with a pass rush that’s being led by defensive end Leonard Williams (8 sacks) and defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence (4 sacks).
The Giants, who are allowing just 5.4 yards per play, are 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 games on the road.
Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (-10.5)
Regular Season Record: 9-5
The Ravens have kicked it up a notch on offense. They have scored at least 40 points in each of their last two games, including in Week 15’s 40-14 home win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Prior to that, Lamar Jackson and company edged the Cleveland Browns in a shootout on the road in Week 14, 47-42. The Ravens smothered the Jaguars, with Jackson passing for 243 yards and three touchdowns against just an interception, while JK Dobbins and the backfield produced 159 rushing yards and two scores on the ground on 37 carries. Don’t expect these Ravens to let up, as they need wins to make it to the playoffs. The Ravens are averaging 28.8 points per game. They are tops in the league with an average of 172.7 rushing yards per contest. That rushing attack has been lethal, especially of late. Baltimore has rushed for at least 129 rushing yards in each of their last five games.
The Ravens are 2-0 against the spread in their last two home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Ravens win, 27-20.
