Betting on the New York Giants (-5.5)

Regular Season Record: 3-7

The Giants are trending in the right direction. After a 1-7 start to the season, Daniel Jones and the Giants have gone 2-0 with back-to-back wins over the Washington Football Team (23-20) on the road and the Philadelphia Eagles (27-17) at home before going into a bye in Week 11. The Giants’ offense is not even remotely good, but its defense deserves respect, as the team is 12th in the league with 23.6 points allowed per game. And the Giants are also getting a break. Not to belittle the injury of Joe Burrow, but with the Bengals without their No. 1 quarterback in Week 12 means an easier task for the Giants’ defense that’s seventh in the league with 1.5 takeaways per game.

The Giants are  9-1 against the spread in their last 10 road games. The over is 4-5-1 in those games.

Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (+5.5)

Regular Season Record: 2-7-1

The Bengals’ worst nightmare came true in Week 11, as Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending knee injury that also put his availability in the 2021 season in jeopardy. Burrow sustained the injury in a 20-9 road loss to Washington last Sunday, and with him sidelined, the Bengals will turn to Ryan Finley. The 25-year-old NC State product took over the quarterbacking duties when Burrow exited the Washington game and completed just 3-of-10 passes for 30 yards (0 TDs, 1 INT). Without Burrow and a largely unstable quarterback in Finley, the Bengals might have to turn to their rushing attack more against the Giants. Joe Mixon remains out, but the Bengals still have Giovanni Bernard. That said, Finley still has the likes of AJ Green and Tyler Boyd to help him in the passing attack.

The Bengals are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five games overall.
