NFL Super Bowl 51 Futures Odds Update – January 30, 2017

Super Bowl 51 is getting closer and closer. One week has already passed since the betting lines and odds for the big game went out, and there’s still a week to go. At this time, let’s get an update on how all those betting lines have changed (if they have at all) at the halfway point of the pre-Super Bowl break.

NFL Super Bowl 51 Futures Odds Update

The Spread – Patriots -3

The Pats opened as 3-point favorites against the Falcons, and have remained 3-point favorites through the first week of betting. That line hasn’t budged an inch, too, which goes to show how spot-on that line is. It also goes to show how the Falcons’ first two playoff performances against the Seahawks and Packers likely shifted a lot of people’s perception of them for the better. They are drawing nearly equal action to the Pats despite New England being easily the more popular team.

TopBet still has the line at 3, but it’s one of the few sportsbooks offering the underdog Falcons at EVEN odds, with the Patriots at -120.

The Moneyline – Patriots -165; Falcons +145

In terms of the moneyline, though, it has shifted ever-so-slightly slightly in favor of the Pats, from -160 to -165. That shouldn’t be too surprising given that the Pats are the more popular team, and more people are likely to bet on them to win straight up. But for anyone looking to maximize their bet on the underdog Falcons, TopBet is currently offering them at +145 to win, which is one of the highest odds around.

The Total – 59.5

Meanwhile, apart from a slight dip to 59 the total has remained static at 59.5 (-110), which was where TopBet opened the line at. Both offenses are certainly capable of easily exceeding that total with ease. The Falcons are averaging 40 points per game in the playoffs, while the Pats are at 35.

However, some bettors could be understandably wary of such a high line, especially in such a big stage as the Super Bowl, which is why there’s no appreciable movement on either side.
