Betting on the North Carolina Tar Heels (+3.5)

Record: 8-1 Overall / 5-0 Conference

Tar Heels quarterback Drake Maye was on point in the game against Virginia, as he passed for 293 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 26/37 completions. Not only that but North Carolina also got 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns from its rushing attack. Indeed, the Tar Heels’ offense has been spectacular this season. North Carolina entered the game against the Hoos averaging 39.7 points per game which was eighth-best in the nation by the end of Week 10. It’s that Maye-led passing attack that is hurting North Carolina opponents the most, as the Tar Heels are top five nationally in terms of passing yards per game.

North Carolina is 3-2 against the spread in its last five games.

Betting on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (-3.5)

Record: 6-3 Overall / 2-3 Conference

Wake Forest is now officially on a losing skid after that loss to NC State. Prior to that, the Demon Deacons lost to the Louisville Cardinals in Week 9 on the road, 48-21. The good news for Wake Forest is that it’s finally going back home after those losses. The Demon Deacons only has a loss at home this season and that was against the then fifth-ranked Clemson Tigers in a high-scoring matchup that got stretched into two overtimes. Turnovers have hurt the Demon Deacons badly in their last two games, but it’s probably not going to be as big of an issue for them this coming weekend against North Carolina’s defense which is not really known for coaxing turnovers off opponents.

Wake Forest is 7-3 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Wake Forest wins, 33-30.
