Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (10-2)
Are the Philadelphia Eagles the real thing? With their loss on Monday night to the Seattle Seahawks it will be interesting to see whether or not they will be able to stand up to the Los Angeles Rams. Let’s take a look at the Eagles 10 wins so far this season. They took care of the Washington Redskins (2x), barley beat the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers, Cardinals, 49ers, Broncos, Cowboys (Without Zeke), Bears and lastly Panthers.
Personally I think their true biggest win was against the Carolina Panthers. Don’t get me wrong, I think the Eagles are an incredible team, but can they beat the top dogs of the West? This is going to be a huge test for them as they now face the first place Los Angeles Rams.
They both have the highest scoring teams in the nation, and also have young quarterbacks who are capable of throwing over 300 yards in a game. If Philadelphia wants to silence the doubters, they must be able to beat a top team in the division. The Rams are the perfect choice.
Betting on the Los Angeles Rams (9-3)
The Los Angeles Rams are still the dog dog in the NFC West. After their win against the Arizona Cardinals on the road, the Rams secured their ninth win of the season. Once again, Rams star Todd Gurley was a threat running and catching the ball. In the 32-16 victory, Gurley ran the ball 19 times for 74 yards along with catching six of them for 68 yards. With being a threat on both sides of the offense, he is climbing his name into the MVP talk.
Quarterback Goff also had a day as he passed the 3,000 yard mark on the season with his impressive 220 yards of passing and two touchdowns in the victory.
The Los Angeles Rams are a huge threat in the West, this is also a huge test for them. Los Angeles took care of the New Orleans Saints when they walked into the Los Angeles Coliseum, will they be able to take care of the red-hot Philadelphia Eagles who will have a huge chip on their shoulder?
Writer’s Prediction
The Eagles are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games against winning home record teams. Let that trend speak volume right now. If Philadelphia can take the home crowd out of it, they might have a chance but the Rams are simply too good in Los Angeles. Pick: Rams (-2.5)
