The Dallas Cowboys continue to win even without quarterback Dak Prescott. They just extended their undefeated streak to four games with a 22-10 victory against the Los Angeles Rams on the road in Week 5. Dallas can add to that streak when they try to be the first team to take down the Philadelphia Eagles, who just pulled off a 20-17 win against the Arizona Cardinals on the road last Sunday. Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (+4.5)
Regular Season Record: 4-1
There is still no assurance that Dak Prescott will play in Week 6, but the Cowboys are not too worried about his status for now. There is something in Dallas that is working even though it’s Cooper Rush who is handling the chores under center temporarily. Rush is still the inferior quarterback between him and Prescott, but it can’t be denied that Dallas is undefeate with him this season starting. Dallas committing to running the ball more while Prescott is out could be the formula that’;s been delivering success to the Cowboys, with Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard leading the way just like in the Rams game wherein they combined for 164 rushing yards with the latter scoring a touchdown.
The Cowboys are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 road games.
Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (-4.5)
Regular Season Record: 5-0
You know what happened the last time the Eagles started 5-0 in a season; they won a Super Bowl. The Eagles are fedding off the improvement of Jalen Hurts as a more well-rounded quarterback, though, in their win against the Cardinals, he was more of his old self, as he rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. As a team, the Eagles are still a run-heavy team, but with guys like DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown, opposing teams can’t relax on Philluy’s ability to throw the ball deep. Philadelphia’s defense is also top 10 both against the pass and run.
The Eagles are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Eagles win, 24-19.
