Purdue extended its win streak to six games after taking care of business for a 79-74 win last Tuesday against the Illinois Fighting Illini. That’s a big win for the Boilermakers, considering that Illinois is one of the best programs right now in the nation. Before beating Illinois, the Boilermakers beat Michigan at home on Feb. 5, 82-76. Jaden Ivey and Zach Edey scored 23 and 13 points, respectively in the Wolverines game. That guard-center combo of Ivey and Edey is spearheading Purdue’s offense that is arguably the best in the nation. Purdue is No. 1 overall in adjusted offensive efficiency with 126.7 points per 100 possessions and second overall with a 59.0 effective field goal percentage. While they shot just 5/18 from deep against Michigan, the Boilermakers are No. 1 in the Big Ten with a 39.9 3-point shooting accuracy.

Record: 12-9 Overall/6-5 Conference
Michigan let big man Hunter Dickinson do the heavy lifting and he delivered for the Wolverines, leading his team to a 58-57 road win over the Penn State Nittany Lions last Tuesday. Hickinson mustered a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds against Penn State, while Eli Brooks chipped in 16 points. Needless to say, Hickinson will be expected to spearhead Michigan’s attack in the rematch against the Boilermakers. In the first meeting with Purdue, the Boilermakers got 28 points from Hickinson, who is averaging 18.1 points on 57.9 percent shooting from the field, so far this season. The Wolverines will need to take better care of the leather this time around. They were +5 in the turnover split with Purdue in the intial matchup. Apart from Dickinson and Brooks, the Wolverines will also look for DeVante’ Jones’ contribution. Jones had 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists in the loss to Purdue.
Michigan is 5-0 against the spread in its last five home games against the Boilermakers.
