Super Bowl XLIX Prop Bet Predictions and Picks from Top Bet Sportsbook

Super Bowl Prop Bets Picks

Katy Perry Outfit

We’ll start with a selection from our fun Super Bowl props section, which is where some of the wildest props on the Super Bowl live. None are crazier than the prop looking at Katy Perry’s outfit, where Dress/Skirt (-160) is favored over Pants/Shorts/Any Other (+130).

Here’s my whole take here: Perry is a live wire. While she may wear dresses more often than other traditional types of clothes, the reality is she will literally wear anything, from a cupcake to a bird. So much so that on a big stage like this, throw pattern out the window: you’re getting value on Pants/Shorts/Any Other, might as well take it.

Writer’s Prediction: Pants/Shorts/Any Other (+130)

Total Points Scored

On paper, the Pats and the Seahawks are pretty even, and that’s what drives this prediction. These teams can both play elite defense, and are coached by masterminds who can limit your biggest players (Rob Gronkowski, Marshawn Lynch) with the playmakers in their respective defenses. Even given that the Patriots have cleared 40 points in their playoff games thus far, the point stands: these teams will grind to a low total.

Prediction: 29-35 Points (+500)

Largest Lead of the Game (After Conversion Attempt)

[sc:NFL240banner ]The experience of both teams in the Super Bowl may play a big factor in making this a tightly contested game from start to finish. We’ve seen the Pats and Seahawks trail and lead by big margins in this postseason. Neither’s going to happen, though, in Super Bowl XLIX.

Writer’s Prediction: Under 13.5 (+135)

Will there be a Safety

You might have heard of the lucky man back in 2012 who won big betting that the game’s first score would be a safety. You’ve also likely watched as the Seahawks score on a safety early in last season’s Super Bowl. Safeties do happen in the Super Bowl, especially in recent editions. That being said, the per-game stats don’t hold up over the long run, and when it comes down to the range of possibilities that could happen on the grid iron, this game is no different than any either. Plus, neither the Pats nor the Seahawks ranked in the top 10 in sacks during the regular season.

Writer’s Prediction: No (-800)

Team to Commit the Most Turnovers in the Game

Seattle is slightly favored to commit more errors perhaps because they finished the regular season with more giveaways than the Patriots did—New England has the fewest in the NFL overall. That catastrophic error-filled win by Seattle against the Packers may also have something to do with that line.

Writer’s Prediction: Seattle (-120)

Total Turnovers in the game

Both teams have terrific secondaries, good enough for us to think that they’ll come up with at least an interception apiece. Just as the Legion of Boom spells trouble for Tom Brady, the Pats’ rushing defense may also get to Marshawn Lynch and company at some point.

Writer’s Prediction: Over 2.5 (-130)

Will the Seattle Seahawks have a Rushing TD in the game?

The Seahawks are going to rush the ball lots even if that means going up against New England’s ground defense that has allowed just one rushing TD this postseason. The Seahawks have scored at least one rushing touchdown in six of their last eight games, including their three against a tough-defending Cardinals team on Week 16.

Writer’s Prediction: Yes (-260)

Will Tom Brady Throw an Interception?

Richard Sherman

Cam Newton felt the pressure of the Legion of Boom, as he was intercepted twice in the Divisional Round. Even the great Aaron Rodgers wasn’t immune to the badassery of Richard Sherman and company, as he too, threw two interceptions in the NFC title game. Like those two quarterbacks, Tom Brady’s going to be subjected to the same Legion of Boom treatment. Brady has thrown two interceptions in this postseason.

Writer’s Prediction: Yes (-155)

Will Marshawn Lynch Score a Touchdown?

Ah yes, Marshawn Lynch, the crotch-grabbing backfield monster AKA #BeastMode. We said earlier that we believe that the Seahawks are going to score a rushing touchdown in the upcoming Super Bowl and if they are to succeed, it has to be their top rusher that’ll do it, right?

Writer’s Prediction: Yes (-165)

LeGarrette Blount’s Total Rushing Attempts

Blount has been the Patriots’ version of Beast Mode this postseason, but that doesn’t mean New England is going to be willing to let him handle the rock many times. Blount has averaged 16.5 rushing attempts in two games this postseason. That figure, however, is a bit skewed since he rushed 30 times against the Colts’ pathetic defense that was beaten badly early. Blount only had three carries against the Ravens, who like Seattle, are brutal against the rush. Take the under.

Writer’s Prediction: Under 14.5 (-115)
