Betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1)

Regular Season Record: 2-0

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers got the job done again in Week 2. Brady tossed five touchdowns and zero interceptions in a 48-25 home win over the Atlanta Falcons. Showing no signs of aging — if he is at all –Brady has now passed for 655 yards and nine touchdowns against just a couple of interceptions. Brady has the luxury of an incredibly talented receiving corps. Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski, and Mike Evans form a pick-your-poison group. The Rams have an elite cornerback in Jalen Ramsey, but he’s got only one body. He can’t also match up size-wise against Gronk and Evans, who broke out in Week 2 with 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns after a silent Week 1. The Bucs are the highest-scoring team in the NFL right now, as they are averaging 39.5 points per game on the strength of a passing attack that’s recording 319.0 passing yards per contest.

The Buccaneers are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against a team with a winning record.

Betting on the Los Angeles Rams (-1)

Regular Season Record: 2-0

The Buccaneers are coming to town with their high-octane offense, but it will surely be put to the test by the Rams. As great as Tampa Bay’s offense has looked so far this season, it has yet to face a legitimate stop unit. The Dallas Cowboys and the Falcons presented punching bag defenses for Brady, but that won’t be the case this weekend when Aaron Donald and the Rams put Tampa Bay’s attack to the test. The Rams are allowing just 19.0 points and 338.0 total yards per game, eighth and 12th in the league overall. Not only that, but the Rams’ offense has an even better offense. Matthew Stafford has been perfect for Sean McVay’s system, and with that, the Rams are scoring 30.5 points per game. One thing to take note of the Rams is the status of running back Darrell Henderson, who is nursing a rib issue, though there’s optimism that he will play this coming Sunday.

The Rams are 22-8-1 against the spread in their last 31 games against NFC teams.
