Betting on the Texas Tech Red Raiders – March Madness 2018

The Red Raiders managed to sneak into the Sweet 16 by defeating Florida in the second round, 69-66. Texas Tech relied heavily on Keenan Evans against the Gators. Evans tallied 23 points in that game and had also the same output in a 70-60 win over Stephen F. Austin in the first round. Evans and Zhaire Smith have been the only two consistent scorer for the Red Raiders. The team will have to find other quality sources of points, as opponents will surely be putting targets on the back of Evans and Smith. Texas Tech lacks range with only 10 three-pointers in the tournament so far. The Red Raiders, on the other end of the court, have not allowed neither SFA nor Florida to shoot better than 40 percent from the floor. Back in the regular season, Texas Tech limited opposing teams to just 64.6 points per game on 40.3 field goal percentage.

Betting on the Purdue Boilermakers – March Madness 2018

Losing big man Isaac Haas to an elbow injury is a punch in the gut for the Boilermakers, but with or without Haas in the next game, Purdue should be able to hang with Texas Tech. Haas sustained the injury during a close 76-73 win in the second round over Butler. Haarms should still be formidable in the middle minus Haas with 7-3 Haarms filling in as the starting center moving forward. Plus, Purdue still has the pair of Carsen Edwards and Vincent Edwards, who had 13 and 20 points, respectively, versus the Bulldogs. Playing without Haas should also amplify the Boilermakers terrific outside shooting. Purdue was 30th in the nation in the regular season with 9.6 threes per game on 42.1 shooting from deep – second overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Purdue holds off Texas Tech in an intense game that ends with a 77-73 win for the Boilermakers
