This 2015-16 season, Newton is playing the best football of his career. In turn, he and his Carolina Panthers are one win away from becoming league champions for the first time in franchise history.

But before the former Auburn standout got to where he is now, he was already prolific for his rather goofy antics and big-time plays just the same. And with that, let’s now take a look at the 10 best plays and moments from Cam’s breathtaking professional career before we witness him live in action once more in Super Bowl 50 this Sunday.

Once you’ve had your fix of Newton’s finest, head on over to our special feature on the Top 10 Peyton Manning Plays and Moments to witness another one-of-a-kind quarterback and all his greatest accomplishments throughout his storied 18-year NFL career.

Cam Newton’s Top 10 Moments and Plays in the NFL

10. Look at Him Dab!

In Week 10 against the Tennessee Titans from earlier this season, Newton scored a touchdown run and began to strut some swagged-out moves to celebrate the occasion.

This did not sit well with the Titans (and an angry mother to boot), but we were nonetheless happily introduced to “The Dab”, a dance made famous by Newton himself during this game.

Some people have considered Cam’s post-TD celebration here as ridiculous, unnecessary and even offensive. Yet in our circles, a moment like this is just pure internet gold.

9. Now Look at Him Flex!

Cam tail

We all know Cam’s got some serious moves, but he also has a penchant from some aesthetic flair away from the gridiron.

Just look at him rock those fly Louboutin kicks at a press conference. And what’s up with that raccoon tail?! This man’s got class and with a sense of, uh… wildlife taste?

8. Look at Him Dab Again!

You know you’ve become a household celebrity when the neighboring basketball team considers you a guest of honor.

Newton once appeared courtside at a Charlotte Hornets game and did an extended version of his celebratory dance, clad in full Hornets gear and all.

We know Steph Curry’s a big fan of the Panthers, so will Cam suddenly make a cameo at a Warriors game if and after he wins the Super Bowl? Oracle Arena’s less than an hour away from Levi’s Stadium, you know.

7. Poppin’ His Cherry

For his first masterstroke as a pro, Newton bolted his way down the red zone for a 20-yard touchdown run against the Cincinnati Bengals (albeit in a preseason match).

Not a whole lot of quarterbacks let alone running backs can match his speed and elusiveness as seen here, and that was just the first glimpse of what Cam had in store for the rest of the league.

6. The Real Welcome Party

In his inaugural NFL game that really mattered, Newton outdid his aforementioned 20-yard TD run by going through the air instead. He hit his soon-to-be favorite target Steve Smith for a 77-yarder of a bomb for his first-career touchdown in the big leagues. Immediately, Cam established himself not just as a speedy QB, but one with a rocket for an arm as well.

5. With Both Feet Down!

When Cam goes for a rushing touchdown, he goes hard. Or better yet, he literally tumbles his way into the end zone.

Watch Newton do a full front flip, land on both of his feet and almost manage to spring back up right after he lands for the touchdown. And of course, the obligatory hysterics followed that play (to much of our delight).

If one acrobatic score isn’t enough for you, don’t worry because there are more stunts up Superman’s cape waiting to be seen below.

4. Bye Bye Bucs

You want a more impressive touchdown run from Newton? How does a beeline dash from midfield sound?

We pity the Bucs, though, whose defenders basically just stared in awe at Newton’s quickness as he tore their secondary a new one.

3. He Got New England Down ‘Pat’

This next play isn’t a rushing touchdown for a change, but it’s arguably Cam’s most impressive display of footwork to date.

On third-and-7, and against the mighty Patriots all the more, Newton *deep breath* broke a tackle while scrambling, juked away and nearly broke about three defenders’ ankles, ran towards the far left of the field and then right back to midfield for a 13-yard pick-up and the first down. Wow… just wow.

Plus, he beat the Pats later on in that game. That’s a bonus all on its own!

2. Some Good Ol’ Home Cookin’

Although he was born and raised in Atlanta, Newton has considered Charlotte his second home as the leader of a young and hungry Carolina squad.

Ironically for the Atlanta Falcons, Cam was with his adopted family of feral cats in the Panthers when he torched them for a 72-yard touchdown, complete with his patented front flip and invisible t-shirt rip signifying that Superman has once again taken supersonic flight.

1. Beating the Big Easy the Hard Way

We’ve just seen the Buccaneers and the Falcons eat Newton’s dust, so now it’s time for the Saints to get what they had coming. And boy, the rest of NFC South will rue the day that they ever faced the dab-master, alright.

This final clip is not one of Cam’s most dazzling plays, but rather the most significant one he made at the time. Back in 2013 and with the Panthers on the verge of making the postseason for the first time in six years, Newton connected on a 13-yard strike with just 23 seconds left for the game-winning touchdown over New Orleans and clinched his first-ever NFL playoff berth. Not only was it a tight and perfect pass, it was also a stunning portrait of exactly how dangerous he could be through the air and not just on the ground when his fate is hanging in the balance.

Can Cam put on another highlight for the ages in Super Bowl 50? We’ll just have to tune in this Sunday to see what kind of crazy heroics Superman will pull off next. In the meantime, why don’t you create a betting account now to start betting on Newton and his Panthers before it’s too late?
