Turkey manager Fatih Terim will have several talented options in midfield, with skipper Arda Turan, Hakan Calhanoglu, Nuri Sahin, Selcuk Inan, and Oguzhan Ozyakup. All of them play with a lot of confidence and are key reasons why Turkey’s attack-minded style of play should be able to cause some serious trouble to any opponent.
Ozyakup, in particular, could be the difference-maker. He’s had a marvelous season with Besiktas in the Super Lig, delivering nine goals along with seven assists. Ozyakup’s presence will surely take away some of the pressure off Turan, who is undoubtedly the team’s star player.

Despite a number of reliable attacking midfielders on their side, one of the main issues for Turkey is goal-scoring. This team only managed to rack up 14 goals across 10 qualifying matches and it was forward Burak Yilmaz who compiled the most with four.
The Turks’ chances of at least advancing through the group stage are highly unlikely if they continue to struggle in finding the net.
