Betting on the Washington State Cougars (-3)
Record: 5-4 Overall / 4-2 Conference
Washington State is coming off a Week 10 bye. Before that, the Cougars scored a 34-21 road win over the Arizona State Sun Devils on Oct. 30. Quarterback Jayden de Laura played well both through the air and on the ground in the Sun Devils game, passing for 234 yards and a touchdown with an interception on 17/27 completions while also rushing for a score. Although the Cougars allowed 400 yards to Arizona State, those mostly went for naught, as Washington State went just 5/13 on third downs and turned the ball over a total of seven times. Washington State’s defense is a highly opportunistic one, as evidenced by its average of 2.2 takeaways per game — good for seventh nationally. That’s the kind of defense that can cripple Oregon’s offense, and we may just see that happen in Week 11.
Washington State is 6-0 against the spread in its last six games overall.
Betting on the Oregon Ducks (+3)
Record: 8-1 Overall / 5-1 Conference
Oregon just keeps on padding its lead atop the Pac-12 North division. The Ducks are 4-0 in their last four games, which includes their 26-16 road win over the Washington Huskies over the weekend. Running back Travis Dye stomped all over Washington’s defense for 211 rushing yards and a touchdown on 28 carries. Quarterback Anthony Brown passed for a touchdown and run for another as well. All in all, the Ducks rushed for 324 yards. Washington State has been effective in forcing turnovers, but Oregon’s rushing attack still poses a huge threat to the Cougars. The Ducks woke up last Saturday as 10th in the nation with 5.5 rushing yards per carry and 24th with 208.1 rushing yards per game.
The over is 3-1 in Oregon’s last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Oregon wins, 30-23.
