East No. 7 – Wisconsin Badgers (Overall: 20-12, Conf: 12-6)
Team Strengths
For the 18th-straight year, the Wisconsin Badgers are going dancing! They dropped, though, their last two games—versus Purdue and Nebraska—but have managed a number of quality wins overall, including victories against the likes of Indiana, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Maryland. The reason for this has been thanks to their breathtaking defense (64.6 points allowed per game). And if the Badgers continue to hold opponents below their usual averages, it won’t be surprising to see them finish deep and pull off several upsets to make it all the way back into the championship round again.Team Weaknesses
Offense, meanwhile, is probably the most evident problem for the Badgers, who are putting up just 68.9 point per game in the season. They’ll definitely need all the points they can muster throughout each game and you can expect them to lean on the trio of Nigel Hayes, Bronson Koenig and Ethan Happ to take the lead on offense. Hayes, in particular, has been the most reliable one as he leads the entire team with 16.3 PPG. But he and the rest of the Badgers have also got start knocking their shots beyond the arc to help them keep up with high-scoring teams. Wisconsin is only shooting 35.8% collectively from the three-point area, which is among the lowest in the nation.
