Betting on the Wisconsin Badgers 8-0 (-12.5)
The Wisconsin Badgers have had a really nice season so far this year, and they come into this game not having a loss yet, but they still have a lot of work left to do to climb the ranks and get into the college football playoff. Even though they are undefeated they came into the rankings as the number nine team, and only the top four make the playoffs.
One of the biggest reasons is they didn’t really play any teams that have had a successful season yet. Their biggest win this year was probably over the Northwestern Wildcats, which was a nice one, but if that’s the best win on your resume it’s a cause for concern.
For the Badgers the strength is on the defensive side of the field. They come into this game giving up only 12.9 points and less than 270 yards of total offense per game. The Badgers offense has also been good this year, but they really haven’t faced a good defense yet. They currently are putting up 35 points, and over 443 yards of total offense.
Betting on the Indiana Hoosiers 3-5 (+12.5)
The Indiana Hoosiers really felt like they could make a bowl game this year, but they are going to need an amazing close to the season if that is going to happen. They come into this game with three wins, and only one of those wins was against a power five school, the Virginia Cavaliers.
Last weekend they had their worst loss of the season. They came in as 6.5 point favorites over the Terrapins, but the defense really struggled and that led to the Terrapins winning 42-39. For the Hoosiers the strength of this team was the defense, but the fact they gave up 42 points really puts that point into question.
The Hoosiers are led by freshman quarterback Peyton Ramsey who has played well this year. He currently has thrown for 1252 yards and ten touchdowns. Now he has had some growing pains, but that is what you expect to get when you have a freshman under center.
Writer’s Prediction
There has been a lot of games this year that the Hoosiers have looked like they were going to cover the spread, but a couple of late scores prevent them from doing that. I think that will be the case in this game. The Hoosiers will keep it close until half but the Badgers will pull away in the second half and not only win the game, but also cover the spread. Pick: Wisconsin Badgers (-12.5)
