The New England Patriots are in a bind. They are 1-2 and are coming off a 37-26 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The only win they have so far is the one that came at the expense of the ho-hum Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. Nevertheless, they will have all the motivation they need to beat the Green Bay Packers. That’s going to be easier said than done, with Aaron Rodgers and company on a mini two-game undefeated streak. The Packers are fresh off a 14-12 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, too. The biggest problem for the Patriots is the most obvious one: they won’t have Mac Jones to run the show from under center after he suffered an ankle injury in the loss to the Ravens. With Jones out, the Patriots will turn to veteran Brian Hoyer, who at least has plenty of experience. New England could also turn even more to their rushing attack that is fourth in the NFL with 1.3 touchdowns per game and 13th with 115.7 rushing yards per game.
The Patriots are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games after a double-digit loss at home.
Betting on the Green Bay Packers (-10.5)
Regular Season Record: 2-1
The Patriots have Hoyer in Week 4. The Packers have Aaron Rodgers. That’s really all you need to know to believe that Green Bay is going to dominate Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field. Rodgers passed for 255 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 23/35 completions in last Sunday’s victory against the Buccaneers. Over the last two Packers games, Rodgers has passed for four touchdowns against just an interception. With the kind of issues the Patriots have on offense right now, expect Green Bay to have the ball most of the time in Week 4 in this matchup.
The Packers are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games in Week 4.
