[sc:Football ]2015 NFL Week 1 Fantasy Sleepers
Brandon Coleman – Wide Receiver, New Orleans Saints
[sc:NFL240banner ]The New Orleans Saints may opt to run the ball more this year, especially with the trade of Drew Brees’ favorite target in Jimmy Graham. But coach Sean Payton may not be able to resist using his quarterback’s strong arm. Here comes rookie wide receiver Brandon Coleman to save the day. Coleman has the size at six-foot-six and 225 pounds to be an excellent red zone target. With a solid offensive line providing protection, Brees should have enough time to repeatedly connect with Coleman.
Tevin Coleman – Running back, Atlanta Falcons
Tevin Coleman starts the season as Atlanta’s No. 1 running back. He has the advantage of knowing how to play under new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan’s system. Coleman is coming in after plowing through college defenses to rack up 2,036 yards and 15 touchdowns in his final year for the Indiana Hoosiers. The rookie should be able to blaze a trail in the pros, placing in the 93rd percentile among NFL running back prospects since 1999 in the 40-yard dash, clocking in at 4.39 seconds.
Tyler Eifert – Tight End, Cincinnati Bengals
Tyler Eifert went down with a season-ending injury in Week 1 of last season and being in a team which features stellar running back Jeremy Hill and wide receiver A.J. Green, it’s understandable then to sleep on the Cincinnati tight end. But Eifert should be one of the focal points of the Bengals offense with Andy Dalton under center.
Eifert was the main weapon in the receiving game this preseason, hauling in five passes for 67 yards. If he didn’t get injured in the first week last season, then he may have seen as much targets or even more than Green, who caught 69 passes for 1,041 yards and six scores.
Tyrod Taylor – Quarterback, Buffalo Bills
“[Tyrod Taylor] is a pain in the rear,” Indianapolis coach Chuck Pagano said of the Bills’ starting quarterback. Taylor has a strong arm to feed balls to wide receivers Percy Harvin and Sammy Watkins. He also has an excellent running back in LeSean McCoy to hand off to. But what makes Taylor such a good steal are his legs. The former Ravens quarterback can scamble to extend plays and even run downfield himself at times. Taylor also has a beatable Colts defense to deal with in Week 1 of the regular season.
Josh Lambo – Kicker, San Diego Chargers
You may not know it, but Josh Lambo beat out veteran San Diego kicker Nick Novak for the kicking job. Lambo should have the range to nail some of those long field goals with a big leg and Major League Soccer experience. The Chargers kicker should have plenty of opportunities to put points on the board, as San Diego has an efficient offense led by quarterback Philip Rivers.
Jacksonville Jaguars Defense
The Jacksonville Jaguars may not be a defensive juggernaut, but they should have some relative success at home against the Carolina Panthers. Kelvin Benjamin is lost for the season due to a torn ACL, and Devin Funchess isn’t even a bonafide starter for Carolina just yet. The Panthers also have some concerns on the offensive line, which should go hand-in-hand with Jacksonville’s pass rush. The Jaguars had the sixth-most sacks (45) last season.
