[sc:Football ]2015 NFL Week 7 Fantasy Sleepers
Stefon Diggs – Wide Receiver, Minnesota Vikings
Stefon Diggs is certainly on almost every fantasy owner’s radar right now. Diggs, the rookie wideout of the Minnesota Vikings, has been on a rise for the past two weeks. He’s garnered a total of 216 yards on 13 receptions and has also racked up 20 fantasy points under his name during that stretch.
[sc:NFL240banner ]Furthermore, these two-straight solid efforts have allowed him to become a new favorite target of QB Teddy Bridgewater despite still not being able to cross the end zone. But that’s bound to happen very soon for as long he keeps his current form up and as long as Charles Johnson (ribs) remains to be out.
Theo Riddick – Running back, Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are no longer winless after capturing their first win on Sunday at the expense of the Chicago Bears, 37-34. However, the fact still remains that the Lions flirted with the possibility of having a 0-6 record and lost their first five games of the 2015 season.
A huge reason for this embarrassing and unexpected start from Detroit has been their backfield situation. Joique Bell has been unable to stay healthy and his backup Ameer Abdullah has struggled with fumbles. Fortunately they still have Theo Riddick.
Theo Riddick wasted no time in strengthening his resume. Last week, he played most of the second half against the Bears and finished with seven carries for 28 yards, while catching three passes for 50 yards. Riddick now has totaled for an impressive 33 receptions for 278 yards and two touchdowns on the year. Those kinds of numbers are guaranteed to keep him involved in the Lion’s offense even if Bell returns and Abdullah begins to find his form.
Benjamin Watson – Tight End, New Orleans Saints
If you’re current tight ends aren’t providing you with good results, then why don’t you try taking a chance on Benjamin Watson of the New Orleans Saints. It could be very worth it.
Watson is fresh off his best performance of the season and looked like almost every bit of Jimmy Graham. He reeled in 10-of-12 targets for 127 yards and a touchdown to help his team hand Matt Ryan and the rest of the Falcons their first loss.
It’s hard to say if Drew Brees has already formed a strong relationship with Watson. But nevertheless, his recent outburst is something not be overlooked and could hopefully be a start of something new for the Saints. We’ll find that out when they take on the Andrew Luck-led Indianapolis Colts this coming weekend.
Ryan Fitzpatrick – Quarterback, New York Jets
The New York Jets have been on a serious run this season. That’s mostly because of their starting quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, who’s provided them with some “FitzMagic” to lead them to a 4-1 start and has turned out to be a relevant fantasy player to consider.
Over their previous five games, Fitzpatrick has at least 200 yards in each of those games while accumulating nine touchdowns. Reaping the benefits of his success are the pair of Brandon Marshall and Erick Decker, who both have been his most reliable targets.
However, they’re going to be in their toughest test yet this year, as they will be bound for a divisional contest opposite Tom Brady and his undefeated New England Patriots for Week 7. That is going to be the perfect measure for the Jets in finding out whether they are indeed the real deal.
Chris Boswell – Kicker, Pittsburgh Steelers
It didn’t take long for the Pittsburgh Steelers to find their replacement for Josh Scobee. Chris Boswell immediately seized the opportunity in his last two games, during which he went a perfect 5-for-5 on field goal attempts and 4-for-4 on extra points. Boswell is expected to keep this up especially versus a favorable matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs—a team that’s allowed opposing kickers to score 41 points in six contests.
Washington Redskins Defense
The Washington Redskins have been on a slump lately, winning only three of their last four games and are on a two-game losing skid. But there’s a good chance for that to end as they’ll be hosting Jameis Winston and a Buccaneers’ team that’s been very prone to turnovers. Also, the Burgundy and Gold’s defense has been able to score two touchdowns this season and has gotten eight takeaways over the past three weeks.
