Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (+4.0)
Regular Season Record: 4-8-1
The Colts are coming off a 54-19 beating at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13, but at least they got a bye in Week 14 to lick their wounds. It’s uncertain for now who exactly the Colts will start under center in Week 15, but it won’t be surprising to see Matt Ryan get that gig again even though he got utterly swallowed whole by the Cowboys’ defense. The Vikings appear to have a much more porous defense that Dallas, so at least Indianapolis has a reason to look forward to a better offensive outing. On the season, the Colts are averaging 16.1 points and 318.0 total yards per game.
The Colts are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games on a Saturday.
Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (-4.0)
Regular Season Record: 10-3
The Vikings became the latest victims of the red-hot Detroit Lions, as they lost to Jared Goff and company on the road in Week 14, 34-23. That being said, Minnesota wide receiver Justin Jefferson provide a major reason why the Vikings are still to be feared. Jefferson exploded for 223 receiving yards on just 11 catches in Week 14. In addition to his production downfield, TJ Hockenson and Adam Thielen had 77 and 65 yards, respectively. Minnesota’s lethal group of receivers will be a huge threat to the Colts’ defense that is third-worst in the NFL in terms of opponents completion percentage.
The Vikings are 5-2-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Vikings win, 27-17.
