2016 Most Regular Season Home Runs Preview

Favorites

Giancarlo Stanton, Miami Marlins

MLB 250x Banner

Giancarlo Stanton popped just 27 home runs last season. But he did it in just 74 games as he fell to a knee injury. At full strength, Stanton should be a force to be reckoned with in the Marlins lineup. He has obscene power and carries elite upside to help his team to victories. He has the potential to his 50 or more homers this season if left healthy. But his injury woes may have some people turning away from his +700 line.

Bryce Harper

Bryce Harper hits a homer against the Phillies

If you’re looking for a slugger, then look no further than NL MVP Bryce Harper. He led the majors in both OBP and slugging percentage last season. He needed just 152 games to hit 42 homers last year. Harper has the power necessary to justify his +800 line to hit the most homers this season. After all, he was the NL home run co-leader in 2015.

Chris Davis, Baltimore Orioles

Getting Chris Davis at +800 to hit the most home runs this season should give you a bang for your buck. He’s already done so two times in the past three years. Davis led the MLB in home runs in 2013 and 2015. He seems to be over the hump he suffered in 2014, where he hit just .196 for the season.

Camden Yards is the best hitter’s park in the American League, which is why Davis has averaged 40 homers a season in the past four years. He has that power to hit the ball out of the park on any given day.

Sleeper

Todd Frazier, Chicago White Sox

Todd Frazier celebrates after winning the 2015 Home Run Derby

Todd Frazier was traded from Cincinnati to the Chicago White Sox last season. But it shouldn’t be too bothersome considering that both parks are practically identical in terms of home run park factors. Frazier had 35 homers last year, 13th-most in the majors. He was also the Home Run Derby Champion. Power is definitely there for Frazier. He has a nice price of +2,200 to hit the most home runs in 2016.

Long Shot

Yoenis Céspedes

Yoenis Céspedes (+8,000) has to be one of the long shots to hit the most homers in the upcoming 2016 MLB Regular Season. But he has an incredible shot to win judging by his power. Céspedes is no stranger to hitting with plenty of power. He’s a two-time Home Run Derby champion. He had his biggest season to date last year with the Detroit Tigers, then the New York Mets later on. Céspedes set a new career-high with 35 homers, and could come up with more this year.

Writer’s Prediction

Bryce Harper (+800) hits the most home runs in the 2016 MLB Regular Season for his best season thus far.
