Experts Picks and Predictions for the 2016 Aegon Classic Birmingham

Game Set Match WTA

Expert Final Round Prediction
Paul Yearley Radwanska def. Kvitova

Wimbledon-2016_250x130

Paul Yearley of Game Set Match WTA did not shy away from picking the top-seeded player at the Aegon Classic Birmingham, Agnieszka Radwanska, and it’s hard to blame him for doing so given how spectacular the 27-year-old has been on grass and in this current season.

Radwanska has made three career semi-final trips in Wimbledon – all in the last four years – and has a fantastic 52-21 record on grass. Furthermore, the Polish righty has already won a title this season (Shenzhen), and has gone no less than three rounds of action in all but one of her seven tournaments this year. Yearley also praised Radwanska for having great confidence this 2016, which should be added value for those bettors looking to cash in from the World No. 3 this week.

Vavel

Expert Final Round Prediction
Silas Low Kvitova def. Radwanska

Just like the previous entry, Silas Low of Vavel also predicted a final match at Edgbaston between Radwanska and standout Czech Petra Kvitova. But unlike Yearley before him, Low picked the two-time Wimbledon champ Kvitova to win it all this week.

Simply mentioning that the 26-year-old Kvitova is a former Wimbledon champ should’ve been enough for us to go with lefty as well this week. However, Kvitova’s having a pretty rough year thus far, with Low stating that she has only won back-to-back matches in just four tournaments this season.

Then again, Vavel’s columnist also couldn’t help but ignore the fact that the decade-long pro’s resume on grass (1,985 career WTA points on the verdant turf) would still trump Radwanska’s current form heading into Birmingham.

Moo’s Tennis Blog

Expert Final Round Prediction
James Peeling Kerber def. Radwanska

We’ve got another vote for Radwanska in the final round of the Aegon Classic, and another defeat for her as well. This time around, it’ll be at the hands of Angelique Kerber, as what Moo’s Tennis Blog’s James Peeling suggested.

Peeling stated that while Radwanska is well-rested heading into this week’s tournament, the 28-year-old German got a better draw as the two-seed of the event with fewer possible threats along her path to the final round. Throw in Kerber’s own fantastic 29-8 record on grass into the fray, and we virtually have a three-way standoff for the top prize this week at Edgbaston on our hands.
