Things have been pretty rough for Tyler Wilson (2-5, 4.73 ERA), who’s hoping to break off from his woes on the mound tonight versus the Boston Red Sox. He has not won a game since May 11 and is coming off another rocky start against the Blue Jays last Saturday.

However, the struggles for Wilson could finally come to an end later. The 26-year-old righty has pitched well throughout two career games (one start) opposite the Red Sox. He’s registered a total of 9 2/3 innings of three run ball along with six strikeouts during that stretch.

Whatever the case though, the Baltimore Orioles, who are priced at +300 to win the AL East crown, will still need to get the job done at the plate as well. And needless to say, you can expect Manny Machado to make sure that the team provides Wilson some much-needed runs.

Machado, the O’s leading batter (.302) this season, went hitless in the previous game, but he should be in line for a bounce-back performance. The 23-year-old third baseman boasts an impressive triple-slash line of .304/.389/.583 on the road.

Baltimore is 4-6 SU in its last 10 road games.

Betting on the Boston Red Sox (37-27)

After kicking of his 2016 campaign on a strong note, Eduardo Rodriguez (1-1, 6.06 ERA) has faltered in his next two starts. In that short stretch, he has allowed a total of 10 hits and nine runs (four homers) across 10 1/3 innings. But what’s done is done and the 23-year-old southpaw will hope to start turning things around tonight versus the Baltimore Orioles.

Speaking of the Orioles, Rodriquez’s actually fared relatively well against them. He holds a 1-2 record with a 3.86 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP and .256 opponents’ batting average throughout four career starts. It’ll be interesting to see if he can put on a solid showing later.

On offense, keep an eye on the pairing of Xander Bogaerts and David Ortiz to set the plate ablaze for the Red Sox, who are pegged at +600 to win the American League title. Both are hitting .357 and .341, respectively, this season.

Ortiz, in particular, has been sensational lately, going 8-of-22 with two doubles and an RBI in his last five outings. He’s also owns a .383 batting average at home.

Boston is 7-3 SU in its past 10 games with Rodriguez as the starter.

Writer’s Prediction
