Betting on the Miami Dolphins (+1)

The Jay Ajayi wrecking tour took some break this past Sunday, and just produced an average 79 yards on 19 runs (4.2 yards per carry). It was all good, though, as they got an efficient game from quarterback Ryan Tannehill (200 yards and two touchdowns) and the defense (four fourth quarter interceptions, one pick-six, and eight QB hits). The 31-24 win kept the Dolphins in second place in the AFC East. They have now won four straight games (4-0 ATS).

In this upcoming battle with the Rams, look for the Dolphins to stay aggressive on offense. Ajayi has been unstoppable in the current streak, having two 200-plus yards and one 111-yard performance. Tannehill and his receiving corps, meanwhile, are also doing well during the span, with four receivers recording 78 or more yards in a game.

The same goes on defense. Expect the unit to be extra hyped than in previous weeks, as they are coming off a very dominating game. Along with the aforementioned stats from D, they have also limited QBs to pass below 200 yards in three of the last five games.

Miami is 3-7 SU (4-6 ATS) in their last 10 games on the road.

Betting on the Los Angeles Rams (-1)

There’s good and bad news for Ram fans. The good news is that the long four-game losing streak is now over, as the Rams won a low-scoring 9-6 game against the Jets. The bad news is that QB Case Keenum, who had boring numbers once again (165 yards with no TDs), will continue being the man under center. Looks like Jared Goff will hold clipboards for the whole season.

Against the Dolphins this coming week, it will be better to expect little things from Keenum. No one can simply predict if he’s going to have a good or bad outing. With the next defense his facing having lots of momentum, his chances aren’t looking good. What we can expect something from are his receivers, particularly Kenny Britt, who had seven catches for 109 yards while being mostly pitted against All-Pro corner Darelle Revis.

For the run game, the Rams are still searching for answers, with Todd Gurley regressing to an unbelievable level. The second-year back is only getting 3.1 yards per carry this season, with his longest running play only being 18 yards.

On defense, although they allow some of the fewest yards through the air and on the ground, it hasn’t been good in the past couple of weeks. Along with allowing six wideouts to have 100 or more receiving yards this season, they just allowed the Jets’ struggling running attack to gain 139 yards. If the defense doesn’t wake up, we could see the Fins’ Ajayi have another 200-plus rushing yards.

The Rams have lost three straight games at the LA Memorial Coliseum (0-2-1 ATS).

The ‘Fins (+1) keep it rolling, 24-14.
