Eleven games into the season and the Villanova Wildcats remain unscathed. But can they make it past Syracuse this Saturday still clutching to a clean SU record, while continuing their streak of covering the spread after a win? Meanwhile, Oregon’s basketball team isn’t run by Marcus Mariota, but their offense is rivalling that of their football counterpart. The Wildcats and Ducks headline our latest list of the best NCAAB teams to bet on.

Team | Trend |
---|---|
Villanova Wildcats | 7-0 ATS in last 7 games after a win |

UNLV Rebels | 6-0 ATS in last 6 |
Drake Bulldogs | 5-0 ATS in last 5 |
1. Villanova Wildcats
Trend: 7-0 ATS in last 7 games after a win
Next Game: @ Syracuse Orange – December 28 | 2:00 PM ET
The Wildcats are undefeated so far this season and they face their toughest test yet when they meet the Orange on Saturday for a showdown between two top 10 teams. If the ‘Cats perform the same way they have in their last few games, then Jim Boeheim’s boys could be in for a dogfight.
Villanova has a deadly offense which ranks 25th in the nation (82.5 PPG) and is no slouch in the boards either, grabbing a 13th-ranked 42.0 RPG. They’ll climb higher in the rankings with a win over #2 Syracuse. [sc:NCAAB240banner ]
2. Oregon Ducks
Trend: 8-1 OVER
Next Game: vs. Morgan State Bears – December 29 | 3:00 PM ET
It looks like scoring bundles of points is mandatory for Oregon varsity teams. While the Ducks’ football team was among the best in the nation in scoring offense this year, their basketball team is even better as it ranks first in the nation. In their last 10 games, they’ve even surpassed their season average of 90.3 PPG by recording 91.1 PPG during that span. The number is slightly skewed by two overtime wins over Ole Miss (115-105) and BYU (100-96), but the fact remains that Oregon has been an offensive force this year.
3. Cincinnati Bearcats
Trend: 6-0 UNDER
Next Game: vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers – December 28 | 12:00 PM ET
The Bearcats couldn’t care less about their dismal offense so long as their defense can cover for their lack of scoring. Only two players average in double figures for Cincinnati — namely, Sean Kilpatrick (18.9 PPG) and Justin Jackson (11.1 PPG). Other than those two, no other Bearcat surpasses 8.0 PPG. But while they don’t get many baskets, they aren’t allowing opposing teams to get them, either. This season, the team is No. 5 in scoring defense, giving up just 56.2 PPG.
4. UNLV Rebels
Trend: 6-0 ATS in last 6
Next Game: vs. Cal State Fullerton Titans – December 28 | 10:00 PM ET
Not only have the Rebels won all their last five games, they’ve also posted one of the nation’s highest winning margin averages, too. UNLV has been destroying opponents by an average of 22.0 points in their last five contests, which also accounts for their 82-66 win over Mississippi State last Monday, when the Rebels were 8.5-point faves.
5. Drake Bulldogs
Trend: 3-0 ATS in last 3 road games
Next Game: @ IUPUI Jaguars – December 29 | 2:00 PM ET
The Bulldogs entered the newest season without four of their six best scorers from last year, but that did not stop coach Ray Giacoletti’s wards from getting noticed.
Drake was at its best this season when it compiled a four-game winning streak that started late November and ended against #23 Iowa on December 14. Nevertheless, the Bulldogs have managed to remain undefeated against the spread on the road for almost a year now. They are 3-0 ATS on the road this season and 9-0-2 ATS in their last 11 road games overall.
