Betting Preview for the WBC / IBF Lightweight Unification Bout Title Fight Between Robert Easter Jr vs Mikey Garcia on July 28, 2018

Where: STAPLES Center, Los Angeles

When: Saturday, July 28, 10:00PM EST

TV Broadcast: Showtime

Betting on Robert Easter Jr (+600)

IBF lightweight champion Robert Easter Jr. comes into the fight this Saturday on the strength of an unbeaten record and on his knockout power. Easter owns a 21-0 record with 14 of his wins coming by way of knockouts. Having said that, he has not stopped nor sent an opponent to sleep in any of his last four fights. In his most recent bout, he earned a split decision win over Javier Fortuna back in January in Brooklyn. Many say Easter should’ve lost that fight but a questionable point-deduction in the second round from Fortuna helped Easter keep his head above water in the end. Easter has a significant advantage over Garcia in both height and reach. The 27-year-old Easter stands 5-foot-11 with a reach of 76 inches, way over Garcia’s height of 5-foot-6 and reach of 68 inches, respectively. Prior to the Fortuna fight, Easter stitched three-straight decision victories over Denis Shafikov, Luis Cruz, and Richard Commey.

Betting on Mikey Garcia (-1000)

Yeah, sure, Easter is a lightweight champion too like Garcia and has all that physical advantage over the 30-year-old fighter out of Ventura California, but the fact remains that the WBC lightweight champ is the favorite to win this fight. As the more polished fighter, not to mention one who owns a 38-0 record, Garcia is the public’s favorite to emerged from this Saturday’s fight still clutching a blemish-free record. Easter has the tools to cause Garcia and his corner headaches, but the former has been often observed of late as not being able to capitalize on his significant edges in both height and length. Garcia is also more experienced and generally perceived as the more intelligent fighter between him and Easter. Garcia has beaten quality opponents in his last two fights, scoring unanimous decisions over Sergey Lipinets and Adrien Broner. His other victims include the likes of Juan Manuel Lopez and Orlando Salido, and Bernabe Concepcion.

Writer’s Prediction

Mikey Garcia outguns, outsmarts, and outeverythings Robert Easter to win his 39th fight via knockout.
