Denver Broncos vs Kansas City Chiefs Predictions, Picks, Odds, Preview – NFL Week 8 – October 28 2018

The Denver Broncos are coming off a morale-boosting win against the Arizona Cardinals, but if they really wan t to send shockwaves across the league, they should take down a team like the Kansas City Chiefs, who are now +800 to win Super Bowl 53. It’s going to be easier said that done, but the Broncos can be deceptively strong at times. Denver is +4,000 to come out on top of the AFC West by the end of the season.

Betting on the Denver Broncos (3-4)

The Broncos finally stopped their tailspin last Sunday, snapping a four-game losing skid by taking down the going-nowhere Arizona Cardinals on the road, 45-10. It was a rare offensive explosion for the Denver, which is only 19th in the NFL with 23.6 points per game, but that just also showed how bad Arizona defensively is this season – and how good Denver’s can be. In fact, the Broncos’ defense scored four touchdowns, explaining the team’s dizzying score total. Speaking of porous stop units, Case Keenum and the Broncos attack are set to face another faulty defense in Week 8, as the Chiefs are only 22nd in the league with 26.0 points surrendered per game and has the NFL’s worst total defense average with 435.4 yards allowed per contest.

The Broncos are 3-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last three road games against Kansas City, and are currently both 1-2 straight up and ATS when playing away from home on the season thus far.

Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (6-1)

The Chiefs rebounded nicely from a Week 6 road loss to the New England Patriots, as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals at home last Sunday to the tune of a 45-10 score (Yeah, exactly the same score Denver had in its last game). It’s not a secret that the Chiefs can score, so to see them put up a solid defensive performance against a capable team in the form of the Bengals is a scary sign for their future opponents. Kansas City held the Bengals down to only 239 total yards while producing 551 of its own. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes tossed four touchdowns against just an interception and finished with 389 passing yards on 28-of-39 completions. Tight end Travis Kelce paced the team with 95 rushing yards on five receptions, but Kansas City just has too many weapons (Sammy Watkinsm Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt) on offense which can confuse and rattle Denver’s defense.

The Chiefs are 3-0 ATS in their last three home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Kansas City wins, 31-20.
