The Alabama Crimson Tide have an interesting outing this coming weekend, as they are set to pay the surging No. 3 Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville. The Volunteers are currently regarded as the SEC’s best team, so expect them to have mark on their backs every time they play a league-mate. The Crimson Tide are +30,000 to win the national title, while the Volunteers have a much shorter price of +1,200.

Betting on the Alabama Crimson Tide (10-5 Overall / 1-2 Conference)
The Tide are coming off two-straight losses to the LSU Tigers (88-79)on the road and the Texas A&M Aggies at home (81-80). The loss to the Aggies at home was the more damaging one of those two aforementioned, but they can forget about that loss or any other loss they’ve suffered so far this season if they could take down a big fish in the form of the Volunteers in Knoxville this coming weekend. In order for them to be successful in that game, the Crimson Tide’s defense has to elevate its play. The Tide are averaging 73.3 points allowed per game with opponents shooting 44.4 percent from the floor. Although they let the Aggies score 81 points, the Crimson Tide allowed Texas A&M to convert just three of 19 attempt from behind the arc.
The Crimson Tide are 7-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last eight road games against Tennessee.
Betting on the Tennessee Volunteers (15-1 Overall / 4-0 Conference)
Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield are enough to tow the Vols to a victory against any other team this season, but it becomes harder for opponents to take Tennessee down when even the team’s supporting players are playing like them. That was the case in Tennessee’s 106-87 takedown of the Arkansas Razorbacks at home last Tuesday, when Lamonte Turner came off the bench and dropped 21 points with three 3-pointers. Not only that, Jordan Bone also went off for 19 points to add to Williams’ and Schofield’s 18 and 17 points. When the Vols are on, they are on. They are fifth in the nation with an offense that puts up 87.1 points per game. Their defense is 84th nationally with 68.2 points surrendered per contest and 22nd overall in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency.
The Volunteers are 3-0 ATS in their last three home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Tennessee wins, 82-72.
