The Jacksonville Jaguars (+700 to win the AFC South) are now lagging behind most of their competition in the AFC South, thanks to back-to-back defeats in the past two weeks. They can right the ship this coming Sunday against the winless Cincinnati Bengals (+50000 to win the AFC North). However, the Bengals can still bite, as they have the more experienced quarterback in Andy Dalton over Gardner Minshew of the Jags.

Betting on the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4)
As NFL teams watch more and more of Gardner Minshew, they also develop better ways to limit the Jaguars rookie quarterback. That was clear in Jacksonville’s 13-6 home loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 6. Minshew completed just 14 of 29 passes for 163 passing yards with zero touchdowns and an interception. Minshew had a particularly hard time connecting with fellow rookie DJ Chark, who only got 43 receiving yards on three receptions and seven targets. That is not to say Minshew can’t adjust. He will, and if he does play good in Week 7, it’s not only because he prepared well for the game, but likely because Cincinnati’s defense played like a dumpster on fire again. The Bengals are allowing 26.5 points per game this season and own the second-worst total defense in the league with 426.0 total yards given up per contest. Plus, Cincy’s defense against the run is the worst, a fact that should lit up the eyes of Leonard Fournette.
The Jags are 2-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last three road games.
Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (0-6)
The Bengals looked like they were on their way to getting their first win of the season when they scored a touchdown on the opening kickoff of their road game against the Baltimore Ravens. Instead, that play failed to set a tone, as the Bengals lost, 23-17. Andy Dalton passed for 235 yards on 21-of-39 completions with an interception and zero touchdowns. He did score on a short rushing attempt, but it was clear that he’s lacking weapon on offense. With AJ Green’s status unclear and John Ross on the injured reserve list, the Bengals are leaning on Auden Tate and Tyler Boyd to lead the receiving corps. Boyd was locked up by the Ravens’ defense, as he only had 10 receiving yards on three catches. Tate, however, paced the team with 91 receiving yards on five catches. Jacksonville can be stingy against the pass, so Joe Mixon and Giovanni Bernard will have to do more work on the ground. They can find success against Jacksonville, which is just 25th in the league with 131.2 rushing yards allowed per game.
The over is 3-0 in the Bengals’ last three home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Jaguars win, 27-23.
