The San Francisco 49ers are one of the only two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL after six weeks of the season, and they will look to extend their unbeaten streak when they get the Washington Redskins on their plate this coming Sunday. The Redskins are coming off a win and should be feeling better about themselves. The 49ers are -140 to win the NFC West division. They are also +1200 to win Super Bowl 54. The Redskins are a very long shot to win a Vince Lombardi Trophy this season with odds of +200000 to do it. They are pegged at +7500 to win the NFC East.

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (5-0)
It’s time to take the 49ers seriously. They just took down a Super Bowl contender in the form of the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday in a decisive 20-7 road win. A suffocation defense was the top weapon for the Niners in the victory, as they held Jared Goff down to only 48 rushing yards and sacked him four times that resulted in a loss of 30 yards for the Rams. If the Niners could cripple the Rams’ offense that’s loaded with talent with or without Todd Gurley, imagine what they can do against the Redskins’ attack that’s been short in talent from top to bottom. On the season, the 49ers are giving up just 12.8 points per game and 237.4 total yards per contest — both figures are second-best among all defenses in the NFL.
The 49ers, who are also scoring 29.4 points per game, are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five outings.
Betting on the Washington Redskins (1-5)
The Redskins are no longer winless. That much was ascertained by the team in Week 6, when they beat the Miami Dolphins on the road, 17-16. Beating a team that is being regarded as one of the worst in pro football history by just a point barely gives any hope for Washington, but a win is a win, and the Redskins will look to build on that. Case Keenum was named the team’s starter again in Week 6, and he delivered 166 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero errors on 13-of-25 completions. Rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin is proving to be a star in the making. After notching 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns on four catches in the Miami game, he now has 408 receiving yards and five touchdowns on the season.
The over is 6-4 in the Redskins’ last 10 games at home.
Writer’s Prediction
The 49ers win, 32-19.
