Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (-3.5)
Regular Season Record: 3-8
The Cowboys are coming off yet another loss, as they got victimized by the Baltimore Ravens on the road last Tuesday, 34-17. Andy Dalton went 21 of 48 for 285 passing yards and two touchdowns with an interception while taking just a sack. Ezekiel Elliott had 77 rushing yards on 18 carries, while Michael Gallup caught seven passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. Dalton should not have trouble adjusting to the atmosphere in Cincinnati in Week 14, considering he’s played all but a season of his NFL career with the Bengals. That and the fact that Cincinnati’s defense is bad against the pass are among the reasons why the Cowboys can score a victory this coming Sunday. The trio of Gallup, CeeDee Lamb, and Amari Cooper could have fun battling against a banged-up Cincy secondary.
The over is 2-0 in the Cowboys’ last two games on the road overall.
Betting on the Cincinnati Bengals (+3.5)
Regular Season Record: 2-9-1
The Bengals suffered a 19-7 road loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 13. Miami’s defense was simply too much for the Bengals. Quarterback Brandon Allen was repeatedly suffocated in the pocket by Miami’s airtight defense, but he should have plenty of breathing room in Week 14 against the Cowboys’ porous defense. The Cowboys have the worst scoring defense in the NFL with 32.8 points allowed per game. After coughing up just 40 rushing yards in the Miami game, Cincinnati should take advantage of Dallas’ run defense that’s also last in the league with 167.8 rushing yards surrendered per contest. The Ravens racked up 294 rushing yards and two touchdowns against Dallas last Monday. The Bengals have a longer rest than the Cowboys, with Dallas on a short week.
The Bengals are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games overall. The under is also 3-0 in their last three games at Paul Brown Stadium.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cowboys win, 30-22.
