How about them, Cornhuskers? Nebraska has won back-t0-back games in Big Ten play for the first time this season, as they netted a 78-74 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in its last two games, both at home. Nebraska has a long way to go to be considered an at-large berth team for the 2021 March Madness, but the Cornhuskers’ wins over Minnesota and Rutgers show that they have become a dangerous team to face at this point of the season. They’ve been dangerous from deep of late, having shot 39.1 percent from behind the arc in their last four games, making 8.5 threes on 21.8 attempts per contest during that stretch.
Nebraska is averaging 68.3 points per contest this season and allows 73.3 per game.
Nebraska is 3-1 against the spread in its last four games overall.
Betting on the Iowa Hawkeyes (-17.5)
Record: 18-7 Overall / 12-6 Conference
Iowa bounced back hard from its 79-57 road loss to the Michigan Wolverines on Feb. 25, as Luka Garza and the Hawkeyes took down the Ohio State Buckeyes on the road last Sunday for a 73-57 victory. Iowa has now won five of its last six games, and over that stretch, the Hawkeyes have collected wins against the likes of Rutgers, Michigan State Spartans, and Wisconsin as well. Garza, who scored 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field against Ohio State, spells trouble for Nebraska’s defense that is only 12th in the Big Ten in terms of points allowed per game (74.4)/ Garza is leading Iowa this season with 24.3 points on 55.1 percent shooting from the field. As a team, Iowa is tops in the conference with 79.2 points per game and first with 41.4 percent shooting from deep.
Iowa is 4-2 against the spread in its last six games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
Iowa wins, 87-67.
