The momentum has now completely swung over the fence of the Bucks after netting wins back to back in Games 3 and 4 at home. The challenge now for them is to sustain what they’ve been doing, as they look to snatch the series lead for the first time in the 2021 NBA Finals. After consecutive 40-point games from Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks got that kind of performance from another star in Khris Middleton, who went off for 40 points on 15/33 shooting from the field. Giannis wasn’t too shabby himself with 26 points on 11/19 shooting. The Bucks are just waiting for Jrue Holiday to wake up offensively, as the guard had another disappointing shooting night, going just 4/20 for 13 points in Game 4. Still, Holiday’s been effective on the other end of the floor, as his fingerprints were all over the poor performance of Chris Paul. With the Bucks seemingly figuring out the Suns, they will look to bring a different energy to Phoenix this coming Saturday.
The Bucks are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall.
Betting on the Phoenix Suns (-4)
Regular Season Record: 51-21
Now what for the Suns? With their swagger from their wins in Games 1 and 2 evaporating due to their losses in Milwaukee, the Suns could certainly use the boost that will be provided by their home crowd in Game 5. Chris Paul, for one, has been letting the Suns down of late. He’s been a turnover machine in the last couple of games, committing a total of nine turnovers in Milwaukee. The hope for the Suns is that Paul will recover from his poor showing in Game 4 and play like the one who led them to the win in the series opener. In Game 1, Paul scored 32 points to go with nine assists with just two turnovers. Then, of course, there’s Devin Booker, who exploded for 42 points in a losing effort in Game 4. Booker has been unstoppable when he’s found his zone, but the guys around him have to provide support. Deandre Ayton and Mikal Bridges only scored six points in 39 minutes in Game 4. Those could change with the series going back to Phoenix.
The Suns are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight Saturday games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Suns win, 105-102.
