Betting on the New York Jets (+10.5)

Regular Season Record: 0-2

The maturation of Zach Wilson as a passer in the NFL is going to take a lot of work. That’s a major takeaway from the Jets after two weeks of losing. In the Jets’  25-6 home loss to the New England Patriots, Wilson got picked four times. Wilson was forcing things downfield, which he got away a lot with back in college, but NFL defenses are a completely different beast. Hopefully for the Jets, Wilson will show some improvement in his patience in the pocket. Also don’t just count out yet Robert Saleh’s ability to coax his team into playing better football in the face of adversity. The Jets’ head coach is getting put to the test, and whether he has what it takes to elevate this franchise to new heights in the future, we may know a lot about it based on how his team performs against a streaking Broncos team that could be prime for a regression after a hot start. If anything, Jets backers should note that the Broncos are 0-4 against the spread in Denver’s last four Week 3 games.

The under is  5-1 in the Jets’ last six games overall.

Bet on the NY Jets

Betting on the Denver Broncos (-10.5)

Regular Season Record: 2-0

The Broncos are on a roll, and they could very well continue their streak in Week 3 against an all-messed up Jets squad. Denver beat the New York Giants in Week 1, 27-13, and the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2, 23-13, with both games played away from Mile High City. Now, the Broncos will make their home debut in 2021. Teddy Bridgewater has added lots of spice to the Broncos’ offense, something that they missed in 2020. Through two games, the former Louisville Cardinals star has accumulated 592 passing yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions, while completing 77.1 percent of his pass attempts. He’s the complete opposite of Wilson, who could have yet another bad day in the pocket on Sunday. The Broncos have th fifth-best pass defense in the NFL so far this season, as they are allowing just 184.0 passing yards per game.

The Broncos are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as a favorite.

Bet on the Denver Broncos

Writer’s Prediction

The Broncos win, 27-13.
