The Denver Broncos visit the Kansas City Chiefs this Week 13 for a battle between AFC West teams who are looking to improve their chances to win the division title. Check out our preview of this Broncos-Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium below.
The Broncos rebounded nicely from a 30-13 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10 and came out of the bye firing on all cylinders, as they took the Los Angeles Chargers down at home in Week 12, 28-13. Teddy Bridgewater passed for 129 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 11/18 completions, while the Broncos’ ground attack struck twice in the end zone. Denver’s defense also scored off a pick-six. So far this season, the Broncos are 21st in the NFL with 20.7 points per game. They are also third overall in scoring defense, with only 17.8 points allowed per contest. Running back Melvin Gordon has been ruled out of Week 13 due to a hip injury, but the Broncos still have the productive rookie tailback Javonte Williams ready to step into a bigger role in the backfield.
The Broncos are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight Week 13 games.
The Chiefs are looking to extend their win streak to five games. In Week 12, Patrick Mahomes and company scored a 19-9 home win over the Dallas Cowboys. Mahomes, however, was not able to pass for a touchdown and was also intercepted once, while finishing with 260 passing yards on 23/37 completions. Still, Kansas City has a wide array of weapons to use against Denver’s tough defense. On the season, the Chiefs are ninth in the NFL with 25.5 points per game and second overall with 402.4 total yards per contest. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are constant threats to embarrass opposing pass defenses. On the season, Hill and Kelce have 932 and 821 receiving yards, respectively, and have a combined total of 13 touchdown receptions.
