The Kansas City Chiefs are the kings of the AFC West division, but they can become the top seed in the AFC if things go their way in Week 18. As for the Denver Broncos, they are not making the playoffs but would love to hurt the chances of the Chiefs to win the conference’s no. 1 spot. Check out our preview below of this game.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chief ran into a brick wall in Week 17, as they got downed by the Cincinnati Bengals on the road, 34-31. The robust offense was there for the Chiefs, but their defense simply couldn’t make the necessary stops to keep the Bengals at bay. That’s not going to be much of a problem for Kansas City in Week 18 against the Broncos, who are just averaging fewer than 20 points this season. Kansas City has already seen what the Broncos’ attack can do and it was not at all impressive. The Chiefs beat Denver at home back in Week 13 to the tune of a 22-9 score. Mahomes went just 15/29 for 184 passing yards and zero touchdowns and an interception in that game, but the Chiefs’ offense has been something else of late.
The Chiefs are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games versus AFC West teams.
Betting on the Denver Broncos (+10)
Regular Season Record: 7-9
It seems that Drew Lock is going to make the start in the regular-season finale of the Broncos, with Teddy Bridgewater still dealing with a concussion, as of this writing, Lock started in Week 16’s 34-13 Denver loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on the road, and went 18/25 for 245 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions. That was a solid showing from Lock, who is looking to make a good impression in Week 18 to better his chances of becoming the Broncos’ starter in the 2022 season. The Chiefs’ leaky defense could provide a chance for Lock to shine. The Chiefs are only 26th in the league with 369.3 total yards allowed per game. In the first meeting with Kansas City, running back Javonte Williams rushed for 102 yards on 23 carries and also caught six passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.
The Broncos are 11-3 against the spread in their last 14 games after scoring fewer than 15 points in their previous outing.
Writer’s Prediction
The Chiefs win, 24-14.
