Betting on the Washington Football Team (-6.5)

Regular Season Record: 6-10

The Football Team have now lost four games in a row after coming up short in a 20-16 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at home in Week 17. Taylor Heinicke completed 27 of 36 passes for 247 yards but was not able to find anyone for a touchdown while also getting intercepted once and sacked three times for a loss of 29 yards. Nevertheless, Washington managed to keep up with the Eagles and should do better in Week 18 against a banged-up Giants team that could miss a bunch of players again. Heinicke conquered the Giants’ defense in Week 2’s 30-29 Washington win at home, during which he went 34/46 for 336 passing yards and two touchdowns with an interception. Terry McLaurin ruled downfield in that game with 107 receiving yards and a touchdown on 11 catches and 14 targets. The Football Team can take advantage of the Giants’ defense that has allowed at least 29 points in three of New York’s last four outings.

Washington is 5-4-1 against the spread in its last 10 games overall.

Bet on the Washington Football Team

Betting on the New York Giants (+6.5)

Regular Season Record: 4-12

The Giants are just waiting for the season to end. They seemed to have checked out in Week 17’s 29-3 road loss to the Chicago Bears. It’s the third-straight game in which the Giants failed to score more than 10 points and second during that stretch where they managed fewer than seven points. Mike Glennon was ineffective against the Bears, as he only went 4/11 for 24 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. Daniel Jones is not going to start in the season finale for the Giants and regardless of who starts between Glennon and Jake Fromm, the team’s offense is capped due to several injuries and general ineptitude. Amid all that, the Giants still have Saquon Barkley, who showed them something in Week 17. Barkley crushed 21 times for 102 yards. In Week 2, Barkley rushed for 57 yards on 13 carries, while Jones led the team with 95 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries.

The Giants are 5-3 against the spread in their last eight home games against Washington.
