What do you know, the Detroit Lions are on a two-game win streak. That’s after they defeated the Chicago Bears in a shootout last Sunday, 31-30, on the road. Prior to that, they embarrassed Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers at home in Week 9, 15-9. The Lions aim for their third win in a row this coming Sunday when they square off with the New York Giants, who just recorded a 24-16 home win over the Houston Texans at home in Week 10. Regular Season Record: 3-6
Amon-Ra St. Brown was an unstoppable force downfield for the Lions in Week 10 against the Bears. He racked up 119 receiving yards on 10 receptions and 11 targets in that contest. St. Brown had been quite silent in the previous Detroit games, but his explosion against the Bears could be a sign of things to come not only from him but from the Lions’ offense which is sixth in the NFL with an average of 371.2 total yards per contest. Running back D’Andre Swift could also be getting more touches in the coming weeks as he gets increased duties since his return from injury, so the Lions might strike harder offensively in Week 11 against the Giants.
The Lions are 5-0 against the spread in their last five November games.
Betting on the New York Giants (-3.0)
Regular Season Record: 7-2
The Giants are back to their winning ways, as they took care of business in the Houston game. Saquon Barkley exploded for 152 rushing yards and a touchdown on 35 carries versus Houston, while Daniel Jones passed for 197 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 13/17 completions. The Giants have the capacity to poke several holes in Detroit’s faulty defense that is last in the NFL with 29.3 points allowed per game. Meanwhile, New York is third in the league with 164.8 rushing yards per outing.
The Giants are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
