Betting on the Detroit Lions (odds)

Regular Season Record: 1-1

The Lions are looking nice in the preseason. They lost in Week 1 to the Atlanta Falcons in a game where Detroit was competitive, 27-23, and then scored a 27-26 victory in Week 2 on the road against the Indianapolis Colts. Tim Boyle and David Blough each passed for a touchdown against the Colts, while Detroit’s ground attack mustered 174 rushing yards and a touchdown on 33 carries. Conversely, the Lions must be loving their performance against the run in that contest, as Detroit held the Colts to just 30 rushing yards on 18 carries. That is notable heading into Week 3, especially when considering that the Steelers only averaged 1.7 rushing yards per carry in Week 2.

The Over is 4-0 in the Lions’ last four preseason games.

Bet on the Detroit Lions

Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (odds)

Regular Season Record: 2-0

The Steelers are going for a sweep of their preseason assignments. They beat the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 (32-35) at home and the Jacksonville Jaguars (16-15) on the road in Week 2. Kenny Pickett has been delivering the goods for the Steelers whenever he’s on the field. Against the Jags, Pickett went 6/7 for 76 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions. Mason Rudolph was also solid with 127 passing yards and a touchdown with zero picks thrown on 17/21 completions. Solid quarterback play has been a big plus for the Steelers in the preseason.

The Steelers are 6-3-1 against the spread in their last 10 games in the preseason.
