Betting on the New York Giants (+5.5)
Regular Season Record: 0-0
The 2021 NFL season was another disappointing one for the Giants, who finished the campaign with a 4-13 record and on a six-game losing skid. But with former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll now the Giants’ head coach, there is some hope that New York will finally turn things around in the Daniel Jones era. Daboll was the OC that unlocked the potential of Josh Allen in Buffalo, and he might do the same with Jones. And the Giants also still have running back Saquon Barkley, who is healthy and hungry, looking to get it right after battling injuries and dealing with bad run-blocking.
The Under is 5-1 in the Giants’ last 6 games in Week 1.
Betting on the Tennessee Titans (-5.5)
Regular Season Record: 0-0
The Titans went 12-5 in the 2021 NFL season and made the playoffs. However, they did not last long in the postseason, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Round. Tennessee lost some big names on offense in the offseason, with wide receivers Julio Jones and AJ Brown no longer around. However, the Titans added wide receiver Robert Woods and used a first-round pick on wide receiver Treylon Burks, who has been impressive in practices, so far. And then of course the Titans still have monster running back Derrick Henry who is pretty much unstoppable on the ground. Tennessee’s defense hasn’t changed much from last season when they were sixth in the NFL with 20.7 points allowed per game.
The Under is 5-0 in the Titans’ last 5 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Titans win, 23-17.
