Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes (ODDS)
Record: 13-18 Overall/5-15 Conference
Needless to say, the Buckeyes need to win this game not just because it will keep them alive for a chance to win the Big Ten tournament but also to avoid a bad loss that would further damage their already shaky March Madness resume. One good news for Ohio State is that it has already won before against the Badgers, coming up with a W in the only meeting between these teams this season back in February at home, 65-60. In that game, the Buckeyes dominated the glass by a huge margin, 45-26.
Ohio State, which is averaging 73.1 points per game and surrenders 69.4 per outing, is 3-0 against the spread in its last three games.
Betting on the Wisconsin Badgers (ODDS)
Record: 17-13 Overall/9-11 Conference
After thrilling games against the Michigan Wolverines and the Purdue Boilermakers which both ended in losses, the Badgers punctuated their regular-season schedule with a 71-67 road win against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Sunday. The tandem of Steven Crowl and Tyler Wahl stepped up for Wisconsin in the Minnesota game, with each player dropping 21 points, seven assists, and two assists. The two weren’t as productive in the first meeting with the Buckeyes, but Wisconsin’s defense gave Ohio State problems. While they lost to Ohio State in the rebounding battle as mentioned above, the Badgers forced the Buckeyes to commit 16 turnovers and shoot just 42.9 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from deep.
Wisconsin is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 meetings with Ohio State.
Writer’s Prediction
Wisconsin wins, 63-61.
