Line: San Francisco Giants (+135) at Seattle Mariners (-150); total: 6.0 – view all MLB lines
[sc:MLB240banner ]The San Francisco Giants finally snapped their nine-game home losing streak, defeating the Seattle Mariners, 6-2, on Monday. They will look to sustain the momentum of that huge win when they take on the Mariners again, this time at Safeco Field. Starting for the Giants tonight is Madison Bumgarner (7-3, 3.16 ERA). He was solid in his last start, allowing just one run on nine hits in eight innings of work against Arizona on June 12. Unfortunately, he still picked up the loss in that game as the Giants succumbed to the D-Backs, 1-0.
The Mariners, on the other hand, will counter with their own ace in Felix Hernandez (9-3, 3.38 ERA). King Felix is coming off the worst start of his career, allowing eight runs on five hits in just 0.1 inning of action. That ties Hernandez’s shortest start in his career. The Mariners will still fancy their chances tonight, though, with Hernandez on the mound. They are 6-2 in their last eight home games with King Felix as their starter.
The Mariners are 8-2 in their last 10 home games against the Giants.
Writer’s Prediction
Seattle wins, 4-1.
Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (10:10 PM ET)
Line: Texas Rangers (+220) at Los Angeles Dodgers (-260); total: 6.0 – view all MLB lines
The Texas Rangers stretched their unbeaten run to two games with a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. The two sides will lock horns once again tonight with action shifting to Dodger Stadium this time around. Starting for the Rangers this evening is Wandy Rodriguez (3-2, 3.03 ERA). The Rangers are 5-0 in Rodriguez’s last five starts. He has allowed just eight runs in those five outings.
He will have his work cut out for him tonight, though, as he will face the three-time Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw (5-3, 3.21 ERA). The Dodgers have won their last four games with Kershaw as their starter. Kershaw was solid in his last start for Los Angeles, allowing just one run on four hits in 6.2 innings of action in the Dodgers’ 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres on June 12.
The Dodgers are 3-1 in their last four home games against the Rangers.
