Betting on Andy Murray
Andy Murray stormed into the quarterfinals of Wimbledon with a heart-stopping 7-6 (7), 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win over big-serving Ivo Karlovic on Centre Court on Monday. It was a resilient performance from the British No. 1 who needed three hours and three minutes to see off the Croatian.
[sc:Other240banner ]Murray, who improved to 6-0 against Karlovic, has been phenomenal on grass this season. With his victory against Karlovic, he extended his record on grass this year to a perfect 9-0. The No. 3 seed was clinical in his fourth-round win against the Croatian, hitting a whopping 62 winners and winning 23 of his 27 net approaches (85%). Of course, it also helped matters that Karlovic committed 32 unforced errors in this match.
Murray will look to stretch his unbeaten run tomorrow when he takes on unseeded Vasek Pospisil in the last eight. He will fancy his chances of doing just that as he has fared extremely well against the Canadian in the past. He has yet to taste defeat against Pospisil in their previous three meetings with Murray winning all of those matches in straight sets.
Murray is 9-1 in his last 10 matches.

Betting on Vasek Pospisil
The dream lives on for Vasek Pospisil.
The Canadian star barged into the last eight of Wimbledon with a stunning 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 win over Serbia’s Viktor Troicki on Monday. It has been a remarkable journey for Pospisil who has reached a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the first time in his career.
Key to Pospisil’s fourth-round victory was his excellent serve. He converted 71% of his first serves against Troicki with the Canadian winning 77 of his 89 first serve points (87%). He also found some success in his forays to the net, winning 29 of his 52 points there.
He will need to display that same form of aggressiveness in the next round if he is to upset the 2013 Wimbledon champion Andy Murray. For Pospisil to pull off the shock result tomorrow, though, he needs to improve on his disappointing return. He won just 29% of his receiving points in that five-set marathon against Troicki. That simply won’t do against a world-class player like Murray who’s playing some exceptional tennis on grass this season.
Writer’s Prediction
Murray (-2,000) defeats Pospisil in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.
