Best College Football Games to Watch in Week 3 of the 2015 NCAA Season

College football continues with an amazing slate of games in Week 3 of the 2015 NCAA Season. The week will be headlined by a rivalry game between No. 17 Ole Miss and No. 2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Don’t miss out on the week’s best football games for your viewing (and betting) pleasure.

The Top Five College Football Games to Watch in Week 3 of the 2015 NCAA Season

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

Where: Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa

When: Saturday, September 19, 9:15 PM ET

[sc:NCAA240banner ]Ole Miss’ defense is solid, allowing a total of just 24 points through the first two games of the season. The Rebels also have a strong offense led by junior quarterback Chad Kelly, who racked up 257 yards passing with six touchdowns in his first two games of the season. He can also do some work with his legs after rushing for two touchdowns. The Rebels are 4-1 against the spread in their last five trips to Tuscaloosa.

Kelly will be under fire in Alabama with a pair of pass rushers in Jonathan Allen and Minkah Fitzpatrick in the Crimson Tide’s front seven. The two combined for three sacks this season. Alabama also has quite a dynamic duo on offense. Quarterback Jake Coker threw for 214 yards and a touchdown in Week 2, while running back Derrick Henry had 96 yards and three scores on 18 carries.

Writer’s prediction: Better quarterback play has the Rebels covering +6.5.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Where: Notre Dame Stadium, Notre Dame

When: Sunday, September 20, 3:30 PM ET

TV Broadcast: NBC

Nobody has been able to stop the No. 15 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets thus far this season. Quarterback Justin Thomas has been an unstoppable offensive machine with five total touchdowns (three passing and two rushing) in leading Georgia Tech to beat its opposition 134-16. Aside from Thomas, Georgia Tech has a couple of threats on the ground. Marcus Marshall has a team-high 184 yards and two touchdowns this season, while B-back Patrick Skov leads the team with three rushing scores.

The No. 8 Fighting Irish aren’t settled with their quarterback just yet. Starter Malik Zaire suffered a fractured ankle in Week 2 and will miss the rest of the season. Backup DeShone Kizer looked solid replacing Zaire though, throwing for 92 yards and two touchdowns in a come-from-behind 34-27 victory over Virginia.

Writer’s prediction: The Yellow Jackets’ triple-option offense will be hard to stop. Georgia Tech wins and covers -2.5.

Auburn Tigers vs. LSU Tigers

Where: Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge

TV Broadcast: CBS

The No. 6 Auburn Tigers aren’t looking like the team that they were pegged to be in the offseason. The Tigers struggled against the lowly Jacksonville Gamecocks, needing overtime to win, 27-20. Starting quarterback Jeremy Johnson has been a turnover machine this season. He passed for 236 yards and two touchdowns against Jacksonville, but had two costly picks. Jackson now has five interceptions through just two games.

A meeting against No. 14 LSU’s secondary can bring out a good game from Johnson, though. LSU allowed 335 yards passing, albeit to a Heisman Trophy contending quarterback in Dak Prescott last week. LSU’s offense should have some big gains with running back Leonard Fournette, though. Fournette had 159 yards and three scores on 28 carries last week.

Writer’s prediction: Auburn hangs tough to cover +7.5.

Stanford Cardinal vs. USC Trojans

Where: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California

When: Saturday, September 19, 8:00 PM ET

TV Broadcast: ABC

No. 6 USC quarterback Cody Kessler has cannon for an arm. He threw for 410 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2 against Idaho. Kessler now has seven passing touchdowns this season. But another 400-yard game should be difficult against Stanford’s excellent defense. The Cardinal’s starters have allowed just two yards per offensive play this season.

Writer’s prediction: Stanford’s defense helps limit Kessler but can’t avoid a loss. The Cardinal cover +10.

SMU Mustangs vs. TCU Horned Frogs

Where: Amon G. Carter Stadium, Fort Worth

When: Saturday, September 19, 8:00 PM ET

TV Broadcast: Fox Sports Net

No. 3 TCU flexed their muscle in a 70-7 beat down of Stephen F. Austin in Week 2. Quarterback Trevone Boykin passed for 285 yards and four touchdowns in a little over a half. Wide receiver Kolby Listenbee caught six passes for 142 yards and a score. He should be able to dissect SMU’s passing defense, which ranks 98^th in the league after allowing 551 yards through the first two games.

Writer’s prediction: The Horned Frogs get another blowout at home, covering -37.5.
